The realistic range in PKR

Lab management software in Pakistan sits roughly in three bands. A single-room lab using the essentials — registration, test templates, reporting and billing — is in the low band, generally starting around PKR 2,000 to PKR 5,000 per month. A busy diagnostic centre that needs machine integration, referral commission accounting, inventory and multiple concurrent users sits in the middle band. A multi-branch network with collection centres, branch-wise rate lists and consolidated reporting sits above that, and is usually quoted per branch.

PathCare Solutions starts at PKR 2,000 per month for a single lab and quotes the larger configurations on request. Those figures are on our pricing page rather than behind a form.

What actually drives the price

  • Users and devices. A two-computer lab costs less than one running five departments concurrently.
  • Machine integration. Interface work is specific to your analyser models, so it is priced as a module.
  • Collection centres. Each centre needs a login, a rate list and its own receipting.
  • Customisation. If your workflow genuinely differs from the standard, the change is quoted separately.
  • Deployment. Cloud-only is cheapest to run; a fully on-premise deployment adds hardware and administration.
  • Billing currency. A USD-priced contract carries exchange-rate exposure that has hurt Pakistani labs repeatedly over three-year terms.

The charges labs discover after signing

  • One-off setup or installation fees
  • Staff training, charged per session or per person
  • Data migration from Excel or a legacy system
  • Machine interface charges quoted separately from the licence
  • Paid software upgrades and version releases
  • Support tiers — what you get free versus what needs a contract
  • Per-report charges for SMS or WhatsApp delivery
  • Extra charges for additional collection centres or users

Where PathCare stands on these: free setup, free staff training, free data migration assistance, free software upgrades, 24/7 support and included WhatsApp and SMS dispatch. There is no charge per report.

Compare three-year total cost, not the monthly headline

A vendor quoting PKR 1,500 per month with paid setup, paid training, paid upgrades and paid support is rarely cheaper than one quoting PKR 2,000 with all of it included. Build a simple three-year table: monthly fee × 36, plus setup, plus training, plus migration, plus integration, plus upgrades, plus support. Ask for each line in writing before you decide.

Is it worth it?

The usual way labs justify the cost is by adding up what manual processing consumes: printing per report, staff hours spent retyping analyser values, reception time answering "is my report ready", and the cost of a single corrected report. For most labs running more than a few dozen patients a day, the software is cheaper than the manual process it replaces — and it removes the transcription errors that damage reputation more than they damage the accounts.

If you want a specific number for your lab, send us your monthly patient volume, branch count and analyser list and we will quote it directly, with no obligation.
